Our most asked questionsFAQs answered
Who is Footes Financial Planning?
We are a financial planning firm, providing independent financial planning and advice. The company was launched in March 2009 by Lisa Footes. We offer a personalised and holistic service to individuals and business owners. We help people gain clarity, get their finances in order, and provide them with the security and freedom to enjoy life more.
Do you offer independent or restricted advice?
We provide completely independent advice. This means we have the flexibility to select a suitable solution for you from the whole of the market, as opposed to a restricted advice firm that will have a limited range of investment solutions to choose from.
Are you regulated?
Footes Financial Planning UK Ltd. is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The FCA regulates financial services in the UK, and you can check our authorisation and permitted activities here.
What should I expect?
While we will always recommend an investment strategy that is best suited to you, we do not have the power to control world markets or guarantee any level of returns. We will, of course, implement and review any strategy to ensure it remains suitable for you, but no adviser can guarantee future returns.
Is there a charge for an initial consultation?
We offer an initial consultation without charge or obligation to you. This meeting can take place through a video call or at our office in Longbridge, Birmingham, B31 2TS.
What does the initial consultation involve?
This meeting allows us to understand more about you, your concerns, and your plans for the future. It provides a deeper understanding of your requirements and is the perfect opportunity to ensure we are a suitable match to work together. We offer an initial 30-minute connection call beforehand to understand whether we can help you.
What is the cost of advice?
Our fees will vary depending on the type of work involved. We will always provide you with an indication of cost before carrying out any work on your behalf, and nothing is charged without your prior agreement. You can learn more about our fees here.
When is the best time to seek financial advice?
It is very difficult to make up for lost years, so the sooner you enquire, the better; an initial conversation alone may give you clarity in terms of the options available to you. Get in touch with us now to see how we can help you.
Why can’t I just do this myself?
We are a regulated and qualified financial planning firm with two decades of experience. We understand investment markets and what will be suitable for you based on thorough research conducted from the whole of the market. Save time and avoid the hassle of figuring it out on your own. Let our experts handle everything for you.
I have an existing adviser; can you still help me?
Yes, we can. We have had many new clients come to us who have been unhappy with their existing adviser.
Where are meetings held?
Meetings can be held by video or at our office in Longbridge, Birmingham, B31 2TS. We have excellent motorway links, with the M42 and M5 nearby. We are also a five-minute walk away from Longbridge train station. If advice concerns later-life planning, or where you are benefiting from an ongoing service, a face-to-face meeting can take place at your home or workplace, depending on capacity and location.
Do you have parking?
Yes. When you visit our office, we will provide you with a map and instructions on where to find the visitor car park spaces. We have plenty of visitor and disabled car park spaces and EV charging bays available. We are also very near to Longbridge train station.
Do you have disabled facilities?
We have disabled car park spaces in the visitor bay outside our offices at 1 Devon Way. We have a private meeting room in our office suite and on the ground floor for easy access. Should anything else be required, we are happy to accommodate you wherever possible. We can also offer home visits if this is preferred where we have capacity.
Do you receive commission?
No, we are only paid by our clients. This removes a potential conflict of interest. We can work on a commission basis for certain insurances if requested. However, we will always explore the potential downsides of working on a commission basis for insurance versus a “project cost” time costed approach.
Do you charge VAT?
No. At the moment, we are not VAT registered. If this changes, we will let you know.
